The Fontenille Pataud Corsican L’Antò is a stunning French pocket knife with a classic look and feel. As you can tell by looking at the name, this model was inspired by the traditional Corsican model. But with one important difference: the palanquille lock. It is a rare lock, but one that truly elevates this model.
## Palanquille lock
This remarkable lock works with a latch on the spine of the handle. This latch will lock the blade like a backlock, but unlocking it is slightly different. You namely don’t press something down, you lift the latch to unlock it.
The Fontenille Pataud Corsican L’Antò was designed by the famous Corsican knife maker family Zuria and the master knife maker Robert Beillonnet. The latter was declared the most skilled French knife maker in the years 1997 and 2000.
The blade is made from Sandvik 14C28N steel. A stainless type of steel that retains its sharpness well, but is also easy to sharpen. The pointed tip is perfect for the more detailed tasks. There is also enough ‘belly’ to cut a nice piece of steak.
This version is enhanced with stunning buffalo horn scales. Beautiful and black, even though it can sometimes also contain lighter parts. It is, after all, a natural product, making each knife unique! Your version can differ from the model on the photograph.
