The ESEE Izula is named after an aggressive ant which lives in the Peruvian jungle. This is done to indicate that, despite the limited dimensions, this knife should not be underestimated. The ESEE Izula is a versatile fixed blade. It finds a place in a bag or pocket easily or can be worn as a neck knife. Despite the small dimensions it is very nice to hold. On the back is a large opening to stick your pinky through, so you have excellent grip. Of course, you could also make a paracord handle to increase the grip. And if you prefer real grip parts, then ESEE Knives supplies those as an accessory. Of course, they will make the knife a bit thicker.
The blade of the Izula is made of 1095 carbon steel. This is a very strong type of steel, which is easy to sharpen. This steel is a bit more sensitive to rust, but in practice this will not really bother you, as the blade is finished with a high quality powder coating. It remains wise to keep this knife dry and possibly oil it a bit at times.
The included plastic sheath, as all ESEE Knives sheaths, is fantastically designed. The knife is well clamped and will not spontaneously fall out.
